LOCATION:

It is a heavily sloped site located south of the Kanva Reservoir, which happens to be a popular hotspot for bird watchers. On the south, east, and, west, the site is surrounded by a lush tree cover and some fields.

SWOT ANALYSIS:

Strengths- Close to regional artisans and craftsmen.Easy to access by tourists.

Weaknesses-  Far from the city.

Opportunities- Possibility to experiment with the form with respect to the undulating topography.

Threats- Vandalism. Plastic pollution by tourists.

DESIGN:

A series of cohesive organic forms were developed to echo the surrounding topography. It was crucial to design low to the ground to eliminate any visual disturbance/ obstruction to the wildlife. Facilities in the proposed design include a café, a restaurant, an administration block, a small open-air theater, and a library.

USERS:

The artisans and craftsmen have various outdoor and indoor spaces available to practice their art. The proposed retail and exhibition blocks will allow them to present their work and start small businesses.

The unique form will drive tourists and visitors to explore the place and give them a chance to experience and appreciate the local crafts of the region.
