Board Room Table
DESIGN:
The table was treated like a scaled-down, load-bearing building. The legs and base were designed like an MS structural system and the enormous table top was designed like a concrete slab. The base was designed with MS ‘I’ beams. The ‘I’ beam table legs were cut and angled to evoke drama. The base was further reinforced with MS pipes. These MS pipes were also a part of the wire management system.
Additional ‘I’ beams were cut, sculpted, and fixed to the main base to help support the table cantilever. The electrical and data wires were pulled through a dummy cover on the front legs and taken through the pipes to reach designated switch tops. The tabletop was designed with cement boards and finished with a smooth micro concrete finish.
