The Berry Nursery

Introduction
Our client has a passion to grow berries, and hence he consulted us when he decided he needed an exclusive structure to serve this purpose. The Berry Nursery is a one -of- a -kind design. It is visually light and contextual to the existing helicoid house next to it. Located amongst the mighty Nilgiri Hills, this structure was a delight to conceive and actualize.

LOCATION:

Ketty Valley, Ooty, India.

DESIGN:

The design follows the proportions of the golden ratio. The twisted helicoid is a golden rectangle with openings on both sides, forming a tunnel. The inside of this structure would house a central pathway with tiered berry plants on either side. The structure was conceived to be an MS exoskeleton with an outer frame housing an inner frame. This inner frame would have a series of tensile wires which would sandwich the intermediate greenhouse membrane. Watch the buildup video!
